Does euthanasia hurt?
No. Euthanasia is a humane and painless process for your companion and does not hurt. When administered, your pet will simply go to sleep and won’t feel any pain.
Do I have to stay for the procedure?
While many of our clients do stay with their pets during the procedure, we understand that this is an already difficult time and seeing the process can make it even harder.
If it is too much, you are able to leave your companion in the care of our team. With a passion and love for all pets, you can trust they will be in the best hands.
We are dedicated to providing the best, most gentle care for your companion until the very end. But, if you do wish to say goodbye once the process is complete, you can do so too.
What do I do with my other pets?
Some pet owners prefer to have their other pets present during the euthanasia to allow them to say goodbye, while others may choose to keep them in another room to reduce stress.
If you choose to have them nearby, our team can guide you on how to ensure the experience is as calm and gentle as possible for everyone. Alternatively, arranging for a trusted friend, family member, or pet sitter to care for your other pets can allow you to focus on your pet in their final moments without distraction or worry.
Does my pet need to be sedated?
The need for sedation during cat euthanasia depends on a number of factors, like your cat’s health, their behaviour, and more. In some cases, sedation may be recommended to ensure a calm and stress-free experience for your pet. But, we have also seen that a familiar face and some calming words can also help.
Do you offer emergency care?
Yes, we do! Whether it is late at night or during office hours, there is no convenient time to experience an emergency. And, as animal lovers, we understand that prompt and effective care is crucial during these times of distress. We offer emergency veterinary care both at home and at our vet clinics.

Can I Choose A Time Of Day?
Of course. Our vets are able to work 7 days a week from 7:00AM to 12:00AM. Simply get in touch and we can work out the best time for you.
What happens during the procedure?
Every visit is guided by calm, compassion, and respect for both you and your cat.
Your vet will first take the time to explain the process and answer any questions you may have, so you feel supported and know what to expect.
When you’re ready, a gentle sedative is usually given to help your cat relax and drift into a peaceful sleep. Once they are comfortable and resting calmly, the euthanasia medication is administered. This works gently and painlessly, allowing your cat to pass peacefully and without distress.
You are welcome to spend as much time with your cat as you need before, during, and after the procedure. There is never any rush.
What are the benefits of at-home cat euthanasia?
At-home euthanasia allows your cat to remain in the environment where they feel safest and most secure. For many cats, avoiding travel, carriers, and unfamiliar clinic settings can greatly reduce stress and anxiety.
