Pet-friendly events

The days of having to leave your fur babies at home to go anywhere other than the local park are long gone. There are loads of pet-friendly events and activities on every month in south-east Queensland for dogs and their owners to enjoy together. Grab a pen and mark your calendar with some of the best events coming up until the end of the year:

Dogs Go Ballistic

Saturday 1 September
Ballistic Beer, Salisbury

Are you ready for the happiest day of your life? Ballistic Beer is hosting its very own dog festival, Dogs Go Ballistic. Head along for a day of community, craft beer, food trucks, dogs, family, competitions and live music. The event will feature live music, craft beer, food trucks, market stalls and competitions in a picnic-style atmosphere on the large open grass area at the brewery. There will also be a raffle on the day with proceeds to be donated to Happy Tails Dog Rescue.

Doggy Fun Day

Sunday 9 September
Brookfield Horse and Pony Club, Brookfield

There is loads of fun to be had at this annual event at the Brookfield Horse and Pony Club. Your furry pals can enjoy obstacle course races, jumping, a ribbon hunt and great prizes. There will also be a free jumping castle for the kids, lots to eat and drink and a giant raffle too.

Paws and Pizzazz

This pet-friendly event is dedicated to four-legged fun with a host of entertaining and educational activities lined up to ensure families and their furry friends have a great day out. If your pet isn’t shy of a happy snap, make sure you get cosy in the Pet Photo Booth and check your pooch is looking picture perfect for the pet competitions. There are some great prizes up for grabs on the day with a range of different categories including Best Dressed to Waggiest Tail.

Dog Lovers Show

Saturday-Sunday 3-4 November

The Dog Lovers Show is billed as the world’s greatest festival for dog lovers. Dedicated to dogs and the humans who love them, the festival was first held in 2017 and returns in 2018 bigger and better. Highlights include 500 beautiful dogs and 40 breeds on show, high diving hounds in the Blackhawk Dockdogs pool, demonstrations of speed and agility in the Royal Canin Arena, the Common Woof Games hosted by Farmer Dave, expert speakers and celebrity vets on the Pet Circle Stage, lessons on tricks by leading dog trainers, a dog adoption zone, doggy door prizes, free face painting, food trucks and more.

Bring your pooch along for this Christmas get together where Santa will arrive to have his photo taken with your fur baby. There will also be a sausage sizzle, drinks, cupcakes, raffles and stalls including Barkley and Pips, Upside Dachshund, Man’s Best Dog Food, Pet Stock, Chew Chomp Chill and Felt Sensational.
